Clover configurator yellow question mark1/29/2024 ![]() The process isn't this simple I've only outlined a few of the steps. It's quite tricky to edit plists without something that can make sure that the file is formatted correctly, but each new entry will look something like this: A large portion of it is going to be related to Mac OS X and Hackintoshes, but you can ignore all of this.ĬTRL-F to find something called "GUI", under that, to add things to the Clover boot screen, you're going to want to add entries similar to this: GUI You can save the file by saving it to the desktop, deleting the file in the EFI partition (I suggest making a backup by doing the same thing- open it in Wordpad or something, and save the unedited copy to the desktop or something) and copying the edited file by right clicking, clicking copy, and right clicking and clicking paste in the EFI partition. To access the ist file, you want to head to EFI/EFI/CLOVER/ist - right click the file in Task Manager, and select whatever rich text editor you use. To access the drive in Task Manager, click Run new task, and in the window that pops up, in the bottom right click Browse. You won't be able to access this drive through explorer- instead, you need to do it through Task Manager. Now, you should see an EFI drive in Windows. The title is usually "Unknown", but if you see none of this, you probably chose the wrong drive.)Īssign letter=s (or whatever drive letter you want, as long as it isn't already occupied) exit Select partition x (x for the clover partition- for me, the clover partition was 200MB. Select disk # (where # is the disk number of the disk with Clover) list partition List disk (If you have more than one disk, take note of which one you installed the Clover EFI onto.) You can mount the clover EFI partition in Windows by doing the following: Generally clover is used only for OS X, since well, as far as I'm aware it was created specifically with Hackintoshes in mind. After reboot, your Network should show "Ethernet".All Clover Configurator does is mount the EFI partition, and give user-friendly way of editing the ist (an OS X properties list file) located in clover. Note: In step #5, you type in built-in under Properties Key and 01 under Properties Value and Value Type as Data then Save and finally Reboot. Sudo rm /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/ist In your Setting,-> Network ->If your Does Not say "Ethernet" (I'm Wired) then you're likely en01 "built-in" is not checked under HackinTool info.įor me, I felt confused because Dortania explain based on OC not Clover. It kept showing cannot connect to server. I wasn't able to connect to my iCloud even thought I can surf the net. Sorry for highjacking but probably this is good for those who follow your guide and cannot connect to server when signing to iCloud. Perhaps they were indeed for older macOS and since High Sierra or Catalina, they too are no longer needed?Īs Slice reported today, FSInject.efi " is for 10.7 (Lion) and older systems which are able to load individual kexts instead of prelinkedkernel" so I also try booting without it on r5123-1 and I had no issues removing it. Not sure if it's now integrated in main CLOVER圆4.efi ? Slice responded here but. Originally in older days, it was a "Driver responsible for Clover's /EFI/kexts/XXX kext injection into kernelcache". There is still no conclusive evidence as to whether keep FSInject.efi and VirtualSMC.efi (instead of SMCHelper.efi that's for FakeSMC.kext) and digging on the net only provides some user's feedback rather some developers' insight (as they see the code that I cannot). That's also my minimum EFI drivers except that I am an old-school guy and still use FSInject.efi and VirtualSMC.efi Yes kind reminder to everyone, NvmExpressDxe.efi is for older maOS's that don't natively support NVMe, we don't need this for Mojave and newer. I'm currently testing this reduced driver set with a USB (keeping my SSD EFI untouched) and will update my SSD after I confirm proper operation through a few boot cycles.ĮDIT: Note that when booting with OC 0.6.3, I need only the following drivers (still using FakeSMC.kext): OcQuirks.efi (since I'm still booting with r5122).My CLOVER drivers are now limited to the following: I tried removing DataHubDxe.efi (since I think my rig is "modern"), but my system will not boot Catalina 10.15.7.03 without DataHubDxe.efi. Keeping OcQuirks.efi (since I'm still on r5122).Removed SMCHelper.efi (even though I am using FakeSMC.kext).I'm still running CLOVER r5122 (UEFI) and Catalina 10.15.7.03 as the baseline on my HackMini8,1 and was able to apply your suggestions as follows: Tutorial! Sharing my experience in case it helps others.
